Keep a JFK arrival separate from a JFK departure

For arrivals, include the airline, flight number, terminal and whether the flight is domestic or international. Landing time is not the moment a passenger is ready to leave: baggage, immigration where relevant, and the walk or transfer to the pickup point are separate steps. Ask how waiting time is measured.

For a departure, give the flight departure time and the desired terminal arrival time as separate details. Work back from the airline check-in and bag-drop requirements, allowing for traffic and airport access.

Account for the actual meeting point

The current JFK advisory directs arriving for-hire and car-service passengers at Terminals 5 and 7 to the Howard Beach pickup lot via AirTrain.
